Project Description

Starting from an old vernacular cellar with a fireplace, a new space was designed to house an ethnographic museum of the Colla community of Copiapó, in which everyday objects will be exhibited. The morphology of the old space was followed and only construction techniques and materials that were part of the Colla tradition were used, designing and executing the Museum in quincha con brea (wooden structure filled with sticks of tar and earth mortar) and stone finishes. .
